Lakme Fashion week is one of the oldest and most renowned fashion weeks of India. This year the show became a medium of trends and new fashion presented by over 70 designers from 31st January to 4th February 2018, Mumbai. We have compiled a report of major trends to keep you fashion ready.

  1. Colours- PASTELS

The major colour boards depicted were brights, pastels and monochrome. Something for every mood. A hint of denim blue was also seen. Pastels have surely taken the top place in all the colour stories

2. Colour play– With the array of colours, designers also went for solid shades such as all whites and monotones

3. Embroideries– There is no doubt the runway was dominated with floral patterns in both prints and embroideries, but there was something unique we saw this season, colourful contrast embroideries on whites. A hint of stripes as well as print on print garments were also seen

4. Silhouettes– Unlike the last year, this year we got to see playful silhouettes such as high low asymmetric kurtas as well as tiered skirts

There are few garment categories that were very prominent on runway, such as belted sarees, jackets, crop top and skirt, kedio blouse and tulle skirts, out of which kedio blouse and tulle skirts are major major trends.

6. Length- Another amazing trend we saw is ankle length bottoms – be it skirts or trousers all went cropped. Floor lengths were available in anarkalis as well as lehengas

The major neck trend is the good old v-neck, which is back with a modern sister a deep plunge neck. Necks like crew neck, scoop neck, off shoulder and boat neck were carried forward from the previous season. Halter necks are also here to stay

8. Sleeves– The over exaggerated voluminous bishop sleeves and ruffle sleeves is a story of last year. This season it is all about good old classics- sleeveless, cap sleeves full sleeves as well as three quarters

The show came up with it products and tempting trends, which, we are sure all the fashionistas are waiting for, to up their ethnic game.
